West Hendon Playing Fields: Eco Community Centre
A team led by Landscape Architects Southern Green with Erect Architecture were shortlisted for the Landscape Institute and Barnet Council’s international design contest for West Hendon Playing Fields. Entrants were required to create an innovative vision for the future of the 33-hectare site.
The improvements proposed included a community leisure and sports hub which linked to natural swimming and wet play areas. The hub was designed as a cluster of sculptural volumes offering space for a range of social and physical activities.
